Being a small business owner is more than just a lifestyle, it's a way of being. We won't just be talking about your work, but how your work and overarching purpose and vision correlate with your life as a whole.
A Mentor is someone who has taken a similar journey to you in the past, someone who can tailor make a personalised strategy to help you move forward in business and life as your accountability partner... we can empathise, listen and help steer your ship, but with the direction firmly coming from you and you alone.
Mentoring is not about setting you extra tasks for your to do list, it's about drawing out what is already inside of you, so you can create the best possible version of yourself for you, your business and your family.

My name is Helen.

And I've finally found what I'd like to do when I grow up.
​
Having navigated the world of Creative businesses since the tender age of 22, I discovered pretty soon that by sharing the highs and lows of business ownership with other entrepreneurs, that talking really was the best tonic, releasing any overwhelm and uncertainty to ensure I had the resilience to carry on.
​
Four years ago I decided to help others, since becoming a business Mentor on the Virgin Start-Up scheme and subsequently invited to Mentor under the Government 'Help to Grow' scheme, I've discovered how transformational Mentorship is for both the Mentee and myself and so have found great purpose in helping business owners on their entrepreneurial journey, supporting them through the messy thing that is, 'founder' life.

I've gone onto undertake a Foundation degree in Coaching and Mentoring having understood the responsibility of the role and am now a certified ILM Level 5 qualified Coach.
Why do I want to help others? Because I've also done it, for over 20 years and no one should do it alone....

HOW IT WORKS…
Introductory
call
First we meet. A free online consultation where we can get to know each other, if the rapport is right, we move forward, this has to be good for the both of us! It's a great chance for me to get to know you and understand where you need support.
Meeting online
or in person
Initially we meet online, usually monthly and then I love to meet my mentee's in person, it's a whole different connection and it's important I fully understand either your workplace or a convenient place to meet outside of work, it's your call.
What happens
next?
Often Mentoring is a relationship that can last for years (don't worry I won't leave my socks on the floor), it might be that we adjust how often we meet, or we simply continue our monthly sessions to suit you. We may have a break then come back to it, it is always your decision.
EXPERIENCE + ACCREDITATION
Fully trained by the Association of Business Mentors for the Government's 'Help to Grow' support scheme for small businesses. In association with Enterprise Nation. I have been mentoring business owners and business managers as part of this scheme since 2022.
ILM Level 5 certified Coach. Foundation degree level course in Coaching and Mentoring within an organisation
Association of Business Mentors member as part of the Help to Grow scheme, trained and supported by ABM.
Community Growth
Over the years Helen has been offering her time as a Volunteer Mentor for the Government's Help to Grow Scheme, Virgin's Start-Up initiative and supporting Event Suppliers in Zambia, Africa.
Helen's mentoring journey started with Virgin Start-Up, where she guided creative business owners. This experience sparked her passion for supporting young entrepreneurs in their early business stages.
Since then she was accepted onto the Help to Grow scheme, a Government initiative to support business owners and leaders across the UK. On this programme Helen has Mentored 5 business leaders so far, all within the Design or Event industries.

Helen's Mentorship has now also reached further afield supporting business owners within the Event industry in Zambia, Africa. This has been an enlightening experience for both the Mentee's and Helen as they navigate the Luxury Event world in a completely different culture with it's own challenges!
